Fisher Klingenstein Films has ramped up its acquisition and distribution activities in a major way. Beginning in 2011 with just a handful of titles, the rapidly growing independent distribution studio has entered into licensing agreements on over 500 titles for distribution in various media this year.

The studio has also grown its strategic partnerships and retail outlets, including an output licensing agreement with Amazon for its new Prime subscription service.

The company has a significant presence in DVD retail distribution in Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy and other big box retailers, selling over 200,000 units in the past two quarters, with titles such as Alec Baldwin starrer “Brooklyn Rules.”

Recent acquisitions include 25 Lifetime movies, licensed from Hearst Entertainment, Inc.

These 25 movies represent many of Lifetime’s most popular films, featuring talent such as Kirsten Dunst, Robert Mitchum, Valerie Bertinelli and Stockard Channing.

The company’s PBS special “John Wooden: Values, Victory and Peace of Mind” is in release on Sony PlayStation, iTunes, mobile outlet mSpot and other digital outlets.

All four seasons of TLC’s “Urban Legends” are being released on DVD in Walmart and will soon appear in all the major digital outlets, including Hulu and Amazon Prime.

Also licensed from Hearst Entertainment, Inc. are a slate of the highly regarded Intimate Portraits television specials, including profiles of Grace Kelly and Carrie Fisher.

In the urban market, the studio is releasing 52 episodes of the reality series “First Date,” and has entered into a promotional partnership with the most visited urban website in the world, MediaTakeOut.com.

In the fast-growing digital space, Fisher Klingenstein has lined up over 70 hours of movie and television content on Hulu, including all three complete seasons of  We-TV’s “Women Behind Bars.”

The feature documentary “Back Door Channels,” was released theatrically in New York and Los Angeles, and is the company’s first release to be placed on YouTube’s new Pay Per View outlet. Fisher Klingenstein is distributing the documentary in all media worldwide, and has made its first broadcast sales internationally.

The next theatrical release for the company is “OC87: The The Obsessive Compulsive, Major Depression, Bipolar, Asperger’s Movie,” which is opening in NYC on May 25th, adds four screens in Los Angeles on June 8th, and will play in dozens of markets across the country over the summer.

Fisher Klingenstein has entered into an agreement to release on Amazon over 400 movie and television titles, most of which are from the library of a major studio.

The company is actively seeking to acquire new content, whether one-off deals or complete libraries, in all genres:  movies, documentaries, television series and special interest.

Fisher Klingenstein Films is pleased to announce the acquisition of the documentary “Elvis – Summer of ’56″ –  featuring never-before-seen home movie footage that captures Elvis and his first great romance in the special summer of 1956.

Years before he meets Priscilla, 21-year-old Elvis Presley is in love with a small-town girl, June Juanico, from Biloxi, Mississippi. The truly special summer of 1956 produced Elvis’ first great romance, but also the end of his personal freedom. It’s the summer that witnessed his astonishing rise to fame…and also the abrupt end of a simple existence to which he could never return. The film is accompanied by a never-before-seen home movie, which captures a rare “day-in-the-life” of 21-year-old Elvis on vacation in Biloxi, Miss. with June, illustrating some of the experiences they shared together during the Summer of 1956. The home movie, believed to be the earliest footage of Elvis Presley in a private setting, is the centerpiece of ELVIS – SUMMER OF ’56.
